Typically patients are referred to our office by a dentist, prosthodontist or other dental professional but you can self-refer if you believe you need a periodontist.
At your initial consultation Dr Herron will take time in understanding your current oral health, general health and how this relates to your periodontal health, and most importably - your concerns. You will be seen for a full, comprehensive periodontal evaluation which may include radiographs (x-rays), charting, photographs and a thorough clinical assessment. You will not be rushed or treated like a number.
Dr Herron will work closely with your referring dentist to ensure a collaborative approach with a treatment plan specifically designed for you. You will have ample time for questions - if this requires a follow up phone call or meeting, we will schedule this. All treatment will be performed by Dr Herron or by one of our periodontal registered dental hygienists. You will see the same faces and have consistent care with an experienced clinician.
Our registered dental hygienists have specialized training in all aspects of periodontal treatment including periodontal maintenance, laser dentistry, airpolishing and perioscopy with over 15 000 combined hours of actual clinical perioscopy cases. Each hygienist has their own treatment room with a perioscope - they are passionate about the benefits of perioscopy and are highly skilled and comfortable using this amazing technology. Our surgical assistants are exceptionally trained, compassionate and committed to periodontics. They have worked with Dr Herron for many years making procedures predictable, seamless and well prepared. In addition to assisting clinically during procedures, they will prepare you for treatment, review pre & post -operative instructions and answer any clinical questions you may have.
Our administrative staff is friendly, welcoming and professional. They will guide you through treatment plans, handle insurance and work with financial considerations.
